I am so excited to share something with you!

I am a winner and Top 10 Finalist in the British Airways Face of Opportunity contest for 2010. Out of approximately 1,200 entries, my music business pitch was selected as one of the Top 10 entries among the winning 250 small businesses looking to expand internationally. Starting today, my entry is in the final round of voting, which lasts one week (December 10 – 17, 2010 midnight)

I can really use your help to win this entire contest by voting for my entry each day!
You can also help by sharing the link on Social Media, like Facebook and Twitter or forwarding this blog.
There is no vote counter on this final round, so it will be a honest surprise when the winners are announced! If you want to let me know you voted, I am keeping my own informal tally, which has 5 votes!
If I am selected one of the Top 3 entries, I am given the opportunity to present a 5 minute business pitch to a group of celebrity judges, in a chance to win 10 roundtrip tickets anywhere in the world British Airways flies to further my business internationally. Just being in the top 250, I won the trip to London and back, 3 days of amazing events in NYC and London and a roundtrip ticket from London to any destination in the world where British Airways files. Winning the overall contest, I would receive a Business Opportunity Grant of 10 Round Trip Business Class Tickets valid globally. In addition, as a Top 10 Finalist, I will be mentioned in the media relations surrounding this contest.
The panel judges will include:
- Bill Rancic: entrepreneur, best-selling author and first season winner of The Apprentice
- Bethenny Frankel: celebrated natural food chef, creator of the Skinnygirl Margarita, and New York Times best-selling author of Naturally Thin and The Skinnygirl Dish
- Barbara Corcoran: Corcoran group (sold in 2001 for $70M), best-selling author, investor on ABC’s SharkTank and contributor to the Today Show and other media outlets
This changes everything surrounding my album release.
We are now planning to hold a London based CD release party for my debut album “Night Flight to London” in conjunction with the British Airways event(s), which take place February 2,3, and 4, in New York and London. The idea of a London CD release party was part of the music business pitch I made in my winning entry.
I am busy sorting out all the details to maximize this international exposure, to include the album launch, radio airplay, performances, media and key business meetings in London.
I want to personally thank everyone who voted for me time and time again in the contest. It really made a difference. I also want to thank again Jason Beauregard, who did such an outstanding job on my entry video. I could never have presented my pitch so professionally without his help. I am going to be working with Jason on his Vietnam Documentary, which he is going to pitch for funding via Kickstarter. Stay tuned on that.
