Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton – The Wedding Dress

It took me a while to make my decision on the fabulousness of Catherine Middleton’s dress. When I first saw it, I had not yet known who made it. I thought to myself, this is different, conservative, a bit retro, yet classic. A bit of Grace Kelly meets Doris Day. The gown is understated yet gloriously done.

In every way, this dress represents a very modern woman in a very historic occasion.

Once I realized who the designer was, I started to look at the dress differently. As someone who owns a bit of Alexander McQueen, I was suddenly taking in all the tiny details. The lace on the back, the tiny detail on the sleeve, the silhouette. The subtle bustle in the back and the layers and layers of the dress, which fall gracefully around to form the trail. And that lace…..hand made at that. Seriously amazing.

All I can say is Sarah Burton has done the impossible. She has created the new modern bride.

Music for the Royal Wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William

Thinking about the upcoming wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William, I realized I had two songs that are perfect for the occasion.

My song, “I Want To Show The World” is a modern day wedding song, detailing the coming together of two loves.

My song, “Night Flight to London” represents the world gathering in London for the historic occasion.

Both songs are available for licensing through Getty Images in the music section. Both songs can be streamed from my website at www.jenniewalker.com

Now I did not write a song specifically for the Royal Couple, like George Michael, but if I get inspired I would love to do so. “I Want To Show The World” was inspired by a friend of mine who was dating someone very special and just hearing about their time together moved me to write the tune.

I am eager to see which media outlets will provide the best coverage for US audiences. Will it be CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, BBA America, TLC, USA Networks, Fox, CNBC, or some outlet completely unexpected? It is a nice change of pace to have something so positive to report on to the masses.

As someone who witnessed Princess Diana’s wedding to Prince Charles, it will be wonderful to see how far we have come and how modern royalty can actually be.

And, as someone who just came back to New York City after an extensive trip to London, pitching my music as part of the British Airways Face of Opportunity program, I am eager to see how well I can do with my music!
